Despite the weather, Wetumpka United's Bridge League is off to s fun start!

Wetumpka, AL.-  Wetumpka started its Spring Recreational season this week despite the rainy weather.

"These kids have been looking forward to playing games for a while and because of the weather we have had to delay. This week we wanted to make sure they could have a chance to play," said Melody Crews.

The aptly named Bridge league is a league with a focus of embracing, developing, and allowing new players to have fun while learning the game of soccer.  Coaches al have soccer backgrounds and focus on teaching the players fundamental soccer skills.

"It's been awesome to see how organized the league is," said a parent.  "The kids are learning soccer terms at a young age and it is also helping me as a parent learn the game.  The kids are having fun and we are happy to be a part of the league"

The season runs from March to May.  Registration remains open as the league never turns away people who want to have access to the game.  The fee for new players is $25.00, with a $25.00 price for kits.
